The B7 Design is bold and uncompromising in true brutalist form. Combining square and round forms whilst establishing a sophisticated continuity, through the use of repeated geometric elements. Rationalised by a deep appreciation and actualised by our incredible artesian makers, this highly sculptural vessel plays with simple geometries and offers a generous plant space, accomodating large scale plants and trees. Brutalist architecture is often characterised by a minimalist and geometric aesthetic with an emphasis on showcasing the building materials in their raw appearance. Dominated by the use of monolithic concrete forms, brick and steel were also used in conjunction with concrete. The materiality selected for the B7 Design was stainless steel or aluminium depending on the application and desired finish.

Paying homage to the unapologetic brutalist movement, the B7 Design provides a contemporary outcome with an undeniable appreciation for what has come before, celebrating the past, the now and the new.Providing the versatility to work in an interior and/or exterior context, the Studio Ciao collection create unique solutions for a range of applications, within residential, hospitality, workplace and retail projects. CARE & MAINTENANCE

The Studio Collection of planters are constructed from a premium grade stainless steel or aluminium and designed with the versatility for both an interior and external application. Available in a wide variety of powder coat colours and finishes. Powder coating is a highly durable finish however it’s imperative a simple maintenance routine is carried out on a regular basis to ensure the finish of your product is preserved in the highest possible condition and the warranty requirements are complied with. In stable environments cleaning every three to four months is adequate, in harsh environments with extreme conditions i.e coastal locations, event spaces and commercial environments with high levels of atmospheric pollutants cleaning every one to two months is advisable. In normal circumstances cleaning powder coated surfaces is a simple three step process. Firstly with a clean cloth, wipe the item with lukewarm water to remove any dirt, salt or other deposits on the powder coat surface. Once you have completed cleaning the surface free of any deposits, use a mild detergent (e.g ph-neutral liquid soap) diluted in lukewarm water and gently clean the surface with a wet soapy cloth. Only ever wipe and clean a wet surface, never wipe a dry surface and never rub the surface. Only use non-abrasive sponges or clothes such as microfibre and never use aggressive solvents, pressure cleaners or harsh chemicals. The third step, with a clean cloth and clean lukewarm water is to simply wipe clean the washed soapy surface, removing all the soap residues from the cleaning process.

In reference to planting, please seek the advice of a professional. There are many details to consider and a professional will provide you with the right advice which is tailored to the individual needs of your plant and its environment. Studio Ciao planters have not been designed to accommodate direct planting. Studio Ciao does not advise nor take any responsibility or liability for planting directly into the vessel. We only recommend using a pot placed on the collection saucer, should direct planting into the vessel be required, it is critical you advise your sales representative at the time of purchase as there will be an internal waterproofing membrane required. The waterproofing membrane will incur an additional fee depending on the size and quantity. Using a pot allows for easy rotation, adequate drainage and furthermore a pot will keep your planter in a superior condition, protecting it from the undesirable ingredients often found in potting mix and fertilisers which can react with the finish of your planter. Please remember to also regularly rotate your plants, most plants will benefit from a little fresh air and some plants will severely struggle if they are not rotated outdoors.

The Studio Ciao collection of planters have been cleverly designed to work with a universal 320mm diameter plastic growers pot. The large styles allow for a greater pot size and in turn larger more established plants and trees. In addition to light and oxygen, plants require water to thrive. Good watering practices will result in healthy plants, for both internal and external applications. Generous watering is often thought to be in the best interest of your plants however it couldn’t be further from the truth. Over watering is the most common cause of plants struggling. Most plants require well-drained soil in order to grow and thrive. Do not overwater your plants, roots subject to sitting in water will potentially cause your plant to suffer, increasing the risk of fungal disease and root rot, a potentially deadly development for the plant. Use a watering can and be conscious of the amount of water your plant requires. The long spout of a watering can will eliminate spills and also allows you to precisely direct the water right at the base of your plant. When you are watering, excess water will drain into the collection saucer beneath your plant, please take note of the amount of water you are pouring each time and do not over pour allowing the water to exceed the collection saucer. The collection saucer is provided within the Studio Ciao planter to collect all of the excess water. All of the water must be contained within the pot plant and the collection saucer. The Studio Ciao planter is not designed to collect and hold water within the vessel. Studio Ciao does not accept any responsibility or liability for any damage caused by water, to flooring, furniture or any other associated damages.

As the seasons change, so do your plants' needs. Indoor plants are affected by outdoor and indoor changes. During autumn and then in winter, the days are shorter and indoor houseplants receive less ambient light. As a result, photosynthesis, the process in which plants turn light into nutrients, reduces and the plant enters a resting period. During these colder months, plants generally require less water, however please note, heating can pose further considerations and at times complications to this general rule.

As spring and summer approaches, longer and warmer days signal the plant to start growing, and at this time, you can increase the frequency and volume of water. Keep your plants hydrated during the warmer months and be aware of air conditioners and fans, as they will dry out the indoor air and reduce humidity levels. The growing season, early spring through to late summer, is the best time to fertilise your plants. Adding nutrients, through fertilising, can be important for the long-term health of your plants. Choose a fertiliser with the correct NPK ratio (N for nitrogen, P for phosphorus and K for potassium) for your specific plant. Bear in mind, each location will provide unique conditions, it’s critical to seek the relevant information from a professional for your specific plant and its environment. To ensure the health, happiness and general wellbeing of your plants, introduce a mindful approach to your plant care. Studio Ciao suggests frequently inspecting your plants, observing their habits and paying attention to any changes to your plant or its environment. As your relationship grows and you get to know your plants more intimately, you will start to know what they require and you will be in a position to provide the necessary care when and where it's required.

To use your Studio Ciao planter externally or to plant directly into the vessel please advise your sales representative prior to purchasing. Planters intended for an external application require a UV stable powder coat and drainage holes will be added upon request, direct planting will require the addition of an internal waterproofing membrane.
