PRODUCT INFORMATION

The Studio Ciao collection of Botanika planters are constructed from stainless steel and powder coated in one of the endless available colours, alternatively a custom finish such as electroplating or a mirrored stainless steel finish can be requested.  All planters have been cleverly designed to work with a 320mm diameter pot, thus allowing ample room to handle the pot when moving the pot in and out of the planters. Please speak to your local nursery to understand the conditions your plant requires. It’s recommended to use a pot rather than planting directly into the planter. Using a pot allows for easy rotation of your plants, adequate drainage and will keep your planter in a superior condition protecting it from the undesirable ingredients often found in potting mix and fertilizers which can react with powder coat finishes. Should you wish to plant directly into the planter or use externally please advise when purchasing. For direct planting a protective membrane will be added safeguarding the powder coat finish against the reactive ingredients in fertilizers and potting mix and for external use drainage holes can be added upon request.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

The Botanika collection of planters by Studio Ciao are available for interior and exterior use. Powder coating is a highly durable finish however it’s imperative a simple maintenance routine is carried out on a regular basis to ensure the finish of your product is preserved in the highest possible condition and the warranty requirements are complied with. In stable environments cleaning every three months is adequate, in harsh environments with extreme conditions i.e beach locations, industrial, commercial or city locations with high levels of atmospheric pollutants cleaning every one to two months is advisable.

In normal circumstances cleaning a powder coated surface is a simple three-step process. Firstly rinse your product with lukewarm water to remove any dirt, salt or other deposits on the powder coat surface, once you have completed rinsing the surface free of any deposits, use a mild detergent (e.g. pH- neutral liquid soap) diluted in lukewarm water and gently clean the wet surface with a wet cloth. Only clean a wet surface and avoid rubbing the surface excessively. Use only non-abrasive sponges or clothes such as micro fibre and never use aggressive solvents, pressure cleaners and harsh chemicals. The third step is to simply rinse clean the washed surface with clean lukewarm water making sure to remove all residues from the cleaning process.
